Red and Black are sisters who wrote a book intended as the basis of a sitcom (which explains why it was launched by Neiman Marcus) but a year later it was approved by the Texas State Board of Education as a personal financial literacy textbook.  What is even more amazing is the book is student-approved (they call it a "reality show in a book") and many of them are sharing the information with families and friends.

Red & Black’s book and program is now used across the U.S. by a wide range of schools, community and literacy organizations, as well as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, as it addresses essential skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, communications, teamwork, and respect for diversity.
